What Makes You Feel Good?

Feel GoodWhen it comes to high performing athletes and great performances there is usually a common theme that is expressed when the athlete is interviewed after their great performance. Most often the athlete will say that they just had this winning feeling, and they feel good.

We can apply this very same thing to our day to day lives just like top performing athletes do. You see when you feel good and you have that winning feeling you are looking at things with expectation and anticipation. You are excited of what lies ahead and it just feels good.

To feel good it is really quite simple. Let me explain by demonstrating what most of us already know how to do.

That is we know how to feel bad. We know how to have feelings of worry, doubt, anxiety and fear. For whatever reason this comes so easily to us and we never struggle to feel this way.

To feel good though, all you need to do is change how you think. Instead of thinking about what could go wrong start thinking about what could go right.

In the book Psycho-Cybernetics, Maxwell Maltz talks about how to learn to feel good. He demonstrates how to develop a winning feeling.

The truth of the matter is your nervous system cannot tell the difference between something that is real or something that is made up. So we can either give it bad things that will make us feel horrible or we can give it good things that will allow us to feel good.

The best way to feel good is to have a purpose and have some kind of goal you want to achieve. Once you have that goal you want to see yourself already achieving that goal. You want your vision of you completing that goal to be so crystal clear that you can see what you look like when you achieve that goal. You can see what surrounds you and the details are in color. When you do this you will start to feel good. You will have an overwhelming sense of excitement and anticipation.

So what you can take from the video and this post is to get a goal or purpose and then see yourself accomplishing that goal already. When you do this you will start to feel good and open the door to success.
